Vision Impairment

Visual impairments can take many forms for students.  Students with visual impairments may be blind, have low vision, have difficulty using their vision effectively, and other difficulties. VIsual impairments can impact activities of daily living, academic engagement, and many other areas.

SERESC offers assessments, direct instruction and consultation for students with vision impairments by a team of Certified Teachers of Students who are Blind/Vision Impaired (TBVI).  Additional SERESC consultants including Occupational Therapy, School-Based Psychology, the Medical-Educational Therapeutic Evaluation (METE) team, and others can provide supports for these students as well.
